This project involved the design and construction of a custom 12-foot stream for a homeowner in Redmond, WA. The work was executed by a two-person team over approximately a day and a half, with all excavation and building completed entirely by hand; no heavy equipment was used.
Scope of Work:
-
Site Preparation: The team cleared and prepared the area adjacent to an existing greenhouse and fence, ensuring the new water feature did not impede existing pathways.
-
Stream and Pondless System Installation: A 12-foot stream was manually dug and shaped to flow from a filter area at the top to a pondless tank system installed at the base.
-
Structural Elements: A small block wall was constructed by hand at the top of the stream to form the waterfall’s starting point and retain soil for the filter.
-
Rock and Liner Placement: Pond liner was set, and various boulders and spill rocks were placed and foamed in to create the stream’s natural look and flow.
-
Final Detailing and Features: An I-Agent system was integrated into the skimmer tank, and lighting was installed to illuminate the feature at night. The team finished by trimming all edges and cleaning the work area.
The resulting water feature provided the homeowner with a beautiful, custom-built stream and waterfall that was installed with minimal disruption to the surrounding landscape.
